★★★☆ This 9-song, 24-minute living homage to classic/ancient grindcore is near perfection. It’s heavy as shit, and mean, and the energy is off the charts. And just when you think you know what playbook the band are using, they add enough flavor from other related genres (noise, doom, punk) to keep it interesting. They manage to remind you of bands you’ve enjoyed for years, while undeniably giving you something new. I do have to take away a star for the band’s two forays into ambience… sacrifices that don’t feel like a worthwhile trade on such a short, hectic album. But we’re still looking at a high 3 stars. Consider this a must-listen.
