★☆☆☆ Remember a few years back, when Exodus stunned us all with “Tempo Of The Damned,” a stubbornly triumphant work of neo-thrash? Yeah, well “Generation Nothing” is pretty much the polar opposite of that album. It’s a a thrash time capsule with nothing (except for somewhat better production value) to show for it. ★☆☆☆ A couple of shining moments in the back half of this album (including sublime leads by Corey Beaulieu, and a fun-enough palate cleanser of a Misfits double cover) can’t save an otherwise dreary and forgettable 47 minutes. ★☆☆☆ This album can be described as having three modes: unabashed fanboy aping of prog rock classics, unabashed self-parody, and unlistenable bombastic crap. The best that this album can do, Enigma Machine, manages to escape the gravitational pull of Erotomania. Otherwise, you’re not missing much at all. See the rest here

★☆☆☆ What starts off as a fun game of “guess whom A7X are paying homage to now” quickly devolves into wholesale theft (with “This Means War” being the most egregious lifting I’ve heard in years). This album’s listenability is entirely based on a parlor trick, and not a particularly clever one at that. See the rest here
★☆☆☆ There is a whole lot of bombast and fast notes and operatic epicosity on this album, but it’s so unfocused that it comes out as a blur. The second half of Labyrinth has some sweet metal moments, but by then you’re probably past all caring. See the rest here
