✦✦✦✧ Let me get this out of the way: when you say that Paul Masvidal does guest vocals on two of your tracks, you’re really only referring to Paul Masvidal’s vocoder.
That said, this is shockingly compelling and well-done modern prog metal from Andorra. Think equal parts Dream Theater, Protest The Hero, Cynic, and Periphery. That is to say, the shredding is absolutely ridiculous. And what’s really nice is that the shredfest isn’t entirely self-indulgent, at times actually seeming to fit in emotionally within the greater context of the songs. Also curious: the longer you listen, the less tired you get (absolutely unheard of with this kind of progressive guitarwankery). This is virtually a shoe-in for Arsies consideration this coming winter.
