I do believe this is one of the first metal albums that Zig ever made me listen to. Or was it you, JaPaBo? Pouring out a tall boy….

What a bummer! You’re not wrong about Into the Mirror Black. I bought it a few years ago to prepare for Sanctuary’s Japan tour and was surprised by how much of it I remembered. Such a Carman album!
Was just rocking out with some Nevermore and Sanctuary—he was a talented guy. So sad.
(Also, pop on Into the Mirror Black and tell me you don’t immediately feel like you should be drinking a tall boy in Carman).
★★☆☆ I suppose that one needs to hear this album in the context of a well-loved band releasing new work for the first time in decades. As such, it’s a well-made piece of power metal nostalgia, like a new release from Original Queensrÿche or Ritual-era Testament. But those comparisons should also accurately convey just how old-fashioned the album’s aesthetics feel.
