✦✦✧✧ These Floridian death metal veterans sometimes deliver the goods exactly as I want them (ie, vigorous yet classic death). Sometimes they take one riff and drive it into the ground. Sometimes they just confuse me. I’m jut glad they’re still at it!

✦✦✧✧ This is definitely a step in the right direction (away from 2014’s “Inked In Blood”). There’s no new ground to break here, but if you’re cozy with good old-fashioned death metal, you’ll be sated by this. It’s great to hear Terry Butler’s rumbling bass (and that Spiritual Healing vibe is definitely welcome here).

★☆☆☆ I want to like it more than I actually do, based largely on the band’s status in the annals of Floridian death metal. But that band seem to have doubled down on keeping their sound rooted in the early 90s. At times, they sound more like Biohazard on this album than Malevolent Creation.
