✦✦✦✧ Delicious prog death! BCI’s sound is leaning now more in the prog direction. It’s also the most surgical and precise kind of brütal hëaviness I’ve heard in a long time, maybe ever. It’s quite an achievement. Also, I am loving the split vocal stylings of James Dorton (growls) and Andy Thomas (cleans). See the rest here
✦✦✧✧ The debut (instrumental) album from a collaboration between Keith Merrow and Wes Hauch (The Faceless, Conquering Dystopia, Black Crown Initiate) has all the tasty shredding any modern guitarophile could ever want. It’s also got a mean attitude, which I like. It’s not the most memorable thing in the world, though. See the rest here
★★★☆ A staggeringly self-assured debut album of inventive and unpredictable prog death. Think equal parts Allagaeon, Leprous, and The Black Dahlia Murder, but with occasional clean vocals. There are plenty of gambles here, and to be fair they don’t all work in the band’s favor, but on the whole, this is an enjoyable and original 52 minutes not to be missed. See the rest here
