✦✦✦✧ This is AAL at their heaviest in a very long time, if ever. Feel free to thank Misha Mansoor, whose production and arrangement assistance can be heard throughout the album.

✦✦✦✧ This is perhaps AAL’s best album since their 2009 debut. The band take a more spartan, less-distorted approach to their fourth album, which pays off handsomely. AAL’s brand of metal has always been less about walls of overdriven sound and more about precisely frenetic rhythm, and that’s all the truer here, where clean strings are even more predominant.

★★★☆ This third AAL album loses a star because of its overall subdued vibe. That said, it’s otherwise wall-to-wall excellence, and everything you’d expect from Messrs Abasi et al. While this album was always going to be a Must Listen, it rewards the effort.
