Re: Death By Metal
I just watched it the other day—it was pretty sweet, though some of it, especially the end, felt a little rushed.
The parts about the recording of Human and ITP were especially enjoyable. Good stuff!

Was just rocking out with some Nevermore and Sanctuary—he was a talented guy. So sad.
(Also, pop on Into the Mirror Black and tell me you don’t immediately feel like you should be drinking a tall boy in Carman).
very sad. was jamming to Rust in Peace yesterday in his honor.
The age old question: what makes something metal? It has come up for me lately a bit because my daughter has been enjoying AC/DC lately (started with hearing Highway to Hell over the closing credits of one of the Iron Man movies, now she likes some other tunes like Dirty Deeds and TNT) and she asked me “Is AC/DC heavy metal?”
Thanks for the kind words, JaPaBo. I’ve been on a Yes kick since he died. I listened to one of the new 1972 live releases–7 or 8 whole shows are available. Good stuff. He was a bass genius. Arse, would you say he was your biggest hero back in the day?
Sad–hope the big man is ok…
And wow, those newer Yes albums must really suck if they are worse than Tormato!
I admire their efforts, but I listened to Frantic and it’s still a shitty song.
Thanks for your intrepid reporting, as always. Nice to hear that the Haunted and Kreator ripped it up as usual. I was surprised to see they played so much Dolving era stuff—how did those tunes sound? And as for DT, a 90 minute set is like a preshow warm up for them—they must have had to go to another venue to play another 3-4 hours after Loud Park to make it worth their while.
