✦✦✦✧ It makes a lot of sense that gothic metal would appropriate some of the milder, more polished elements of djent. And it makes a lot of sense that gothic mainstays Lacuna Coil would lead the charge. But what will blow your mind is just how much this new version of the Lacuna Coil formula works (or at least doesn’t outright fail).

✦✦✧✧ Djenty emotechnocore. I don’t get what the fuss is all about. Evanescence is more interesting than this, honestly. (The title track is undeniably catchy, but I’m not entirely sure that’s in a good way.)

★☆☆☆ This is a crowning achievement for Lacuna Coil, with pristine production and their best sonic depth ever. This is also (and more importantly) boring to the point of tedium. Imagine Evanescence without Amy Lee, and you can safely skip listening to this album as a result.
